More Awards for Cobbins
Anser's Steve Lee and the Environment Agency's Valerie Stephens collected exceptional merit awards in both the sustainability and physical achievement categories at last week's ICE East of England Awards on behalf of the project team for the recently completed Cobbins Brook Flood Alleviation Scheme.
The scheme, which will significantly reduce the risk of flooding at Waltham Abbey in Essex, includes the largest dam built in SE England in the last 10 years, has also won the Agency's Safety, Health & Environment Award and was highly commended in the environmental category at the recent Construction News Quality Awards.
Anser have been involved with the scheme since 2004. As Project Manager, we led the team through complex feasibility, planning and compulsory purchase stages ahead of them taking the project to site in early 2009. Halcrow were Lead Design Consultant. Jacksons were Principal Contractor.
