Sustainable Residential Development, Milton Keynes

Sustainable Residential Development, Milton Keynes

Following our management of the successful bid by a major house-builder in the ODPM / English Partnership’s (EP) Design for Manufacture (£60k house) competition, Anser were appointed to manage the delivery of the 145 unit scheme in Milton Keynes.

The project has been applauded industry wide for its successful adoption of the English Partnerships Price & Quality Standards which promote good design, and a renewable approach. The project uses closed panel timber frame technology to achieve exceptional performance standards in air tightness, and waste avoidance. Construction efficiency measurement controls have also been adopted. The result is a cohesive sustainable approach which has become a model for future developments.

The project has received the following awards:

• Design for Homes award 2008 (Large Housebuilder)
• RIBA Manser Medal 2008
• RICS Regional Sustainability award 2008
• House Building Innovation awards 2007 (Large Housebuilder)

Anser are continuing to provide a full project management service including liaison with the many interested stakeholders. The project started on site in April 2006 and is ongoing.
